Happy Lamb Hot Pot, San Gabriel is a hot pot in San Gabriel, California. It is listed at 140 W Valley Blvd Ste 213, San Gabriel, CA 91776, which places it among the local businesses of San Gabriel that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, chinese restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in San Gabriel; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–10:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (626) 766-1577. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is happylambhotpot.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 66 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Delightful spot for lunch! The restaurant is quiet, clean, and offers excellent service. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are generous, and the soup is absolutely delicious—so good that you'll want to come back again and again.

We came on a Monday night as we had heard about their soft opening and $9.90 chicken hot pot special. We thought it would be busy but at 730 pm, we were able to walk in and get seated. They asked if we wanted AYCE or the set specials. We elected to get the chicken special which comes with 125 g chicken, mushroom, two fish fillet, fish balls, potato, taro, carrot, bok choy and napa cabbage. It comes standard with a house broth which was herbal but you could upgrade to other broths. It also comes with salted nuts which they label as the appetizer. There are also extra charges if you want to upgrade to another meat or add sauce bar. The food was plentiful for the price we paid and it also comes with unlimited rice or ramen noodles. The restaurant is quite spacious inside and can seat quite a bit of people. There were also special rooms that included tvs which were saw some management going over a presentation with staff members. Some other things we noticed: they had a B health score rating, there was a small clear plastic wrapper that was mistakenly with the ramen (a miss from the kitchen) and upon payment, the wifi point of sale system was temporarily offline before they got i

I understand is soft opening and things can be chaotic. And who is to blame? Management! A hostess double as a waitress?? I called at 5 pm to made sure they have food available after reading some negative reviews so we arrived at 5:25 and was told we have to come back at 6 because they have to prepare the food but if we pay $35 for system they can seat us??? So if we pay $35 only then the food is prepared? Then we ask if we need to sign in ? She says non, just be back at 6.. we arrived at 5:50 and there was a line already and now, we have to sign up and wait??? We finally was seated at 6:40 .. and 15 minutes later came the chicken but another 20 minutes for the veggie… what a horrible experience!!! Who’s fault? Management for not having enough staff . They should have closed the door until six . Instead , people came in and waitress gave us wrong info and made us wait again.. all in all.. bad experience..

Happy Lamb Hot Pot, San Gabriel is a newly opened restaurant on the second floor of the Tawa Gateway. With completely renovated interior, the inside looks great. However, that cannot be said about the wait or service. I came during their soft opening, and I had to wait for over 2 hours to get seated. When looking at the tables, it looks like a lot of them had parties that have left, but they are so understaffed that they aren't able to clean the tables to flip it. It looks like, from the view of the entrance, about half of the tables are dirty. I asked a nearby party about how long they waited, and they informed me that the management isn't even using the Yelp waitlist anymore as they have a separate piece of paper that is being used to call parties. I had to wait 10 minutes before I could even flag down the manager to ask about the wait-list. After talking to her, she finished the piece of paper and then started to use the waitlist for the people in line. Even when trying to order, they only have 2 servers and it is difficult trying to flag them down to get any help. When I chatted with the nearby table who had finished eating, they mentioned that they had to wait 20 minutes for

This San Gabriel location is the WORST Happy Lamb or even any hotpot location I've ever been too my whole life. I've been to many Happy Lambs all over the world and this one is especially dirty and service is super slow. I understand that this is their first week of operation but I have been to many grand opening events for hotpot locations and I have never seen one this bad. We put our name on the yelp wait-list and the screen said 20 minutes wait. We waited 45 minutes only to find out that they had a separate paper sign in sheet and they called those people first even though they came before us. When we finally sat down we didn't even get water cups for a long time and my whole group had to go walk to the serving area and grab our own water and cups because no one was paying attention to us (Let me clarify that this is not a self-serving bar or anything) . It also took another 35 minutes or so after we ordered our food. (Almost a 2 hour wait total). It also said "unlimited noodles and rice on the menu" but we didn't get any at all and there was no self -service station to try and get any either. We asked multiple times and didn't get our veggies and appetizers that was supposed t
